In this workshop Carina combines the ancient knowledge of the Chinese medicine element wood with the organs liver and gallbladder with Yin Yoga, nutrition, breath techniques and essential oils.
If the wood element is balanced, we are rooted in the past, stand with strength in the present and look with confidence and joy towards our future.

The wood element creates our ability to have a clear overview of our life and to be able to plan, focus and make decisions. On a physical level it gives us strength and flexibility.

Yin Yoga focuses on seated, supine, or prone poses in which we stay longer and work on deeper layers as sinews, ligaments, joints and fascias. This style targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice. While staying longer in the asanas (about 3-10 min.) we learn patience, surrender and focus our attention inwardly. Calm and equanimity have room to develop. We start the practice with a breath technique and meditation.

About your Teacher, Carina

Carina lived in India and was trained in the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in Mysore and trained regularly at the world famous BKS Iyengar Institute in Mumbai. She trained at the Yoga Institute Mumbai, the oldest Yoga school in the world, as well. Her experience is therefore influenced by different styles of Yoga. In her retreats she teaches Vinyasa Yoga and Yin Yoga.

Besides working as a yoga teacher she is a naturopath and practises Chinese medicine and craniosacrale therapy in her clinic in Paris. How the body and mind works and the different causes of diseases, fascinated her from early age.
